About the job:



Kent are looking for an Operations Systems Analyst (Americas) specializing in Software Asset Management (SAM) to manage all the Engineering and Operational Applications (OTS & Custom) as part of our large IT Asset Portfolio. Individual will manage 50+ users that manage 500+ applications across North & South America. The position requires a hands-on technical individual with high levels of data analytical skills, strong stakeholder management skills and prior experience in engineering applications license management. Ideal candidate will be someone who knows how to extract date and is used to administering software applications and understands the Software Asset Lifecycle from initial request - including compliance, license, assets, access management.


Previous experience as an Operations Systems Analyst, Software Asset Manager, Enterprise Asset Manager, IT Asset Manager is preferred.


This is a remote work opportunity that will support the Americas (Canada, US, Columbia) so only location requirement is being based in a time zone that aligns with one of these regions.


Your responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement software asset management program activities, such as Asset Management Plans, that are aligned with ITIL best practices.
  • Run requirements gathering workshops for the region, analyze business users’ requirements and prioritize requirements working closely with the stakeholders, designing the solution, implementing, testing, and supporting business needs.
  • Ownership of the region application assets and ensuring all data relating to the software asset is available when required.
  • Prepare and manage software asset management tools and processes and contribute to process automatization when possible.
  • Coordinate key interfaces between the software asset management lifecycle process and other internal processes, in particular change management, knowledge management, version control and contract management.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of a roadmap to improve asset management processes.
  • Update records and report on software license compliance based on software license right-to-use (RTU), software licenses agreements, maintenance agreements, and software installations and update policies and procedures if required.
  • Create and modify IT software asset records and associated contract records in the appropriate software repository.
  • Support business in development of Business Cases and ROI assessment based on contracts/licensing models and commercials from operational systems & engineering applications.
  • Support the Biding Team providing accurate information about Operational Systems for new projects and Join Ventures
  • Create and modify IT software asset records and associated contract records in the appropriate software repository.
  • Provide Technical support for Operational Systems (first- and second-line support, third line with vendors), process software-related request (new request, changes, upgrades, etc.)
  • Understand current utilization and installation of licenses based on RTU.
  • Provide clear management reports at the end of each day’s execution so that all key stakeholders have a full understanding of the status of Software Asset Life Cycle and any issues identified.
  • Build and manage ISO 9001 and ISO27001 level standard documentation process.
  • Sustainability: analyze software metering that provides information about the usage behavior supporting the use of software asset management tools to make sustainable and economic decisions in this environment.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:


Qualification/ Certification:


  • Five years minimum of working in Software Asset Management (SAM)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology or related field.
  • Ideally ECBA or similar Business Analysis certification.
  • Knowledge of ITIL standard is desirable.
  • Advantageous ISO level certification.

Skills Requirement:


  • Software Asset Management (SAM) experience
  • ITAM, SAM, SLC - software licensing.
  • SaaS experience
  • Python, SQL experience (Nice to have, not required).
  • Background with compliance, licensing, asset management, software asset lifecycle.
