About the Job:

We are pleased to be working with our client to safely deliver maintenance and support of the Telecommunications Systems offshore (CPF & FPSO) and onshore LNG processing facilities.

We currently have a unique opportunity for a senior technician to utilise their specialist experience on a technologically advanced Central Processing Facility offshore from Broome, WA.

The successful applicant will have at least 8 years trade experience with at least 5 years offshore, providing technical support, maintenance and troubleshooting responsibilities on high tech, complex communications equipment.

This position is offered on an even time roster working 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off. We are able to offer you in this role ongoing support, training and career development opportunities, working day to day with colleagues who are the best in industry.

Responsibilities

  • Operations’ first point-of-contact for reporting of faults
  • Logging of faults
  • Hands-on on-site troubleshooting and fixes for system faults to ensure that faults are fixed within service level timeframes
  • Regular preventative maintenance activities for both Telecommunications Systems and IT infrastructure.
  • Inspections of equipment (e.g. PAGA speakers, CCTV cameras, fans, filters, antennas, cables, terminations, junction boxes)
  • Ensure that the Telecommunications Systems are maintained in accordance with Company cyber security policies and standards
  • Ensure that documentation is kept accurate and up to date at all times. Adhere to IT and Operations’ Permit to Work, Management of Change, and other processes.
  • Coverage surveys (radio system coverage and PAGA system coverage)
  • Redundancy/failover testing - to ensure that systems fail over to backup systems
  • Function testing - to ensure that the systems continue to operate as required
  • Hazardous area equipment inspections and maintenance
  • Technicians shall also perform all administrative-related close-out tasks including Update check sheets, Update computer-based records; and return all tools, test equipment and spares to store.

Experience in several of the following systems is a requirement:

  • Safety Systems (PAGA, Access control, E-mustering, CCTV); or
  • Radio Systems (DGPS, Tetra, VHF, WIMAX, Microwave).
  • Maritime Systems (e.g. AIS, EPIB, RADAR)
  • Entertainment Systems

Education and Skills

  • Certificate III Electronics & Communications (essential), Cert IV (preferred)
  • Working at Heights, Low Voltage Rescue, EWP, First Aid, Confined Space training
  • REL / EEHA- all modules including Detailed Inspection (preferred)
  • ACMA cabling - Cu & F/O Restricted Electrical (preferred)
  • TBOSIET including HUET training
