Kent, a leading global engineering company, has announced the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ADVETI). This agreement underscores Kent’s unwavering commitment to fostering local talent and supporting the UAE’s vision of increasing Emirati participation in the private sector.

The MoU aims to create a robust framework for training, upskilling, and employing UAE nationals in cutting-edge industries. By collaborating with ADVETI, Kent will leverage its global expertise and innovative practices to ensure Emirati candidates are equipped to meet the demands of future industries, particularly in advanced manufacturing and technology-driven sectors. Additionally, the MoU paves the way for establishing a first-of-its-kind training centre in the Al Dhafra Western Region. This centre is uniquely positioned to deliver high-quality vocational and technical training programs, empowering UAE nationals with critical skills to excel in the private sector.

“This agreement reflects Kent’s core values of fostering communities and enabling empowerment through collaboration,” said Matthew Bishop, Senior Vice President at Kent. “By aligning with ADVETI, we are taking meaningful steps to contribute to the UAE’s ambitious national strategy, creating a future-ready workforce equipped with world-class skills, as well as ensuring the sustainable growth of Kent’s business in the UAE.”

The MoU focuses on training and upskilling Emirati job seekers and fostering long-term employability in the private sector. Kent will support career development by equipping candidates with critical industry skills and considering further career development opportunities at the end of the programme.

Kent’s ongoing mission to lead the energy transition and empower diverse talent pools perfectly aligns with this strategic collaboration. Together, Kent and ADVETI aim to build a pipeline of skilled professionals who will play a pivotal role in the UAE’s journey toward economic diversification and sustainable growth.
