The Opportunity: Kent is looking to for a Network Engineer to join our team, supporting our Oil & Gas clients. We are looking for a Network Engineer to work on an initial 12-month contract, with high chance of continued extension. This role is based in Perth on a standard 5-day week starting ASAP with occasional trips to Site. This is a Resources Sector role so we will need to see at least 5 years post-graduate experience in this field. Ideally you will have at least 3 years in Oil & Gas.
In this role, you will undertake the following duties:
Help designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting network infrastructure according to business requirements and objectives.
Install, commission, maintain, replace, and decommission network equipment and hardware components when required.
Ensure compliance with cyber security policies and procedures in the provision and operation of systems.
Help to develop short and long-term plans for updating equipment, adding capabilities, enhancing existing systems and providing improved telecommunications systems
Develop and document low level designs and bill of materials across multiple technology functions such as WAN, LAN, Wireless, and Security.
Develop, document, represent and execute technical change management and testing to ensure successful solution delivery.

Tertiary Qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent (highly regarded)
5+ years of experience managing the Network Infrastructure in enterprise environment.
Designing and maintaining VLANs, SANs, WANs, and LANs.
Design of routing protocols with BGP, QoS and MPLS
SD-WAN experience
Firewall upgrade - Cisco Checkpoint experience - Must
Good understanding of Data Centre networking architecture
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent skills
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) (desirable)
Experience in stakeholder management & collaboration
Previous offshore/ onshore IT management experience
Strong written & verbal communication
