About the job:

Kent is looking for Mechanical Commissioning Technicians with offshore experience to be based in Houston, TX office for 2 months and 4 months Offshore (Gulf of Mexico) to support a KENT Project.

Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Site Mechanical Commissioning Lead
  • Always demonstrate excellence in HSSE leadership behaviours.
  • Drives performance, by conducting integrated Handover Readiness meetings with Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Operations Stakeholders. Driving conversations to remove blockers on priority systems.
  • Collaborate with Start-up Manager to ensure a safe and effective execution of Systems Completion activities and to ensure all Systems Completion requirements are met.
  • Manage set-up, implementation, and overall management of the Project CMS.
  • Validate and verify Engineering tag data and upload to CMS.
  • Maintain Master set of Limit of System Handover (LOSH) drawings.
  • Responsible for coordinating and executing Systems Completion activities required by the Systems Completion Plan.
  • Ensures all team members using the CMS are fully competent within the Systems Completion Database as it relates to their role.
  • Monitors commissioning activities, assists in resolution of systems completion related issues to ensure satisfactory quality is attained. (Check-sheet, Punch list, MOC, Redlines)
  • Ensuring alignment with Project Engineering, Construction, Quality, Procurement and Start Up/Operations.
  • Subject matter expert and resource to the Project pertinent to Systems Completion activities.
  • Apply Systems Completion Lesson Learned from previous projects.
  • Manages Systems Completion interfaces to facilitate safe and successful handover and seamless transition of the facilities from Project to Operations.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • 10+ years of Project Completion and Operations experience.
  • Previous successful management experience during Mechanical Completion, Commissioning, and Operations planning.
  • Knowledge of offshore process plant, facilities, utilities, and architecture of surface and subsurface offshore and / or onshore gas and oil producing facilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of Project Completion standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria.
  • Strong understanding of Project execution, Engineering, Construction, Commissioning & Completion practices.
  • Demonstrated management and organizational ability for small to large teams with strong people skills.
  • Strong understanding of work planning, scheduling and tracking.
  • Exposure to client practices, processes, and expectations with respect to Systems Completion, Preservation, Commissioning and Start Up operations.
  • Extensive experience in Commissioning on Oil and Gas Major Projects. Additional experience from Operations would also be an advantage.
  • Qualified in their respective discipline field and hold training competency certifications.
  • Training/ Certs current or previous in BOSIET, SafeGulf, and T-huet/ Huet. Demonstrated extensive experience within the field of commissioning.
  • Previous experience with completions management process and system.
  • Understanding of Control of Work processes during execution.
  • Understanding of basic industry standard safety protocols.

Communication:

  • Full fluency in English is required.

Behavior/ Core Competencies:

  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
