Our Kent Canada team supported the JGC/Fluor BC LNG Joint Venture to deliver E,I&T construction, site-wide pre-commissioning, system completion, and commissioning and start-up support services for the LNG Canada facility in Kitimat, British Columbia.
The LNG Canada facility in Kitimat is the country’s first large-scale liquefied natural gas export terminal. Designed to produce 14 million tonnes of LNG per year from two processing units, the facility comprises LNG storage tanks, marine loading berths for large carriers, flare systems, and tie-ins to the Coastal GasLink pipeline.
Working across three OSBL areas, utilities, Boil-Off Gas (BOG), and site-wide perimeter systems; Kent executed large-scale electrical and instrumentation installation activities covering 1.2 million metres of cable, 26,000 metres of primary tray, 22,500 terminations, and the completion of 30,000 system check sheets. The project mobilisation was supported by our experienced specialty testing and construction teams who ensured efficient sequencing and seamless handover to commissioning and start-up functions.
Our Scope
With a strong Canadian presence and extensive E&I and LNG experience, Kent effectively collaborated with local unions and suppliers to drive delivery. The Kent team met all construction, system completion and final acceptance milestones ahead of their scheduled dates.
