The Opportunity:

Kent has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced Lead Telecommunications Engineer, to be based in our Perth office.

In this senior role you will help drive the Telecommunications system engineering team to provide brownfield and greenfield engineering in the conventional oil and gas sector (onshore and offshore) and emerging Energy Transition markets.

The initial responsibility will be on a large combined onshore/offshore project covering the usual suite of offshore telecommunications equipment and the full system lifecycle from the provision and oversight of telecommunications engineering, procurement, construction, hand over to operations and ongoing support.

In addition, with a goal of growing the Telecommunications Team, you will support upcoming opportunities in all Kent business lines,

As a degree qualified engineer your experience will cover more than a decade of hands-on experience with the delivery of complex systems.

You will likely have had roles in project engineering; system integration and be well versed in systems engineering, commissioning and completion, configuration management and project controls.

Your history will include planning, developing and delivering work packages requiring a similar level of diligence and scrutiny.

Unfortunately if your experience is has been mainly NBN/ Telco, this isn't the role for you.

We would need to see this qualifications & experience…

• Bachelor of Communications/ Electronic Engineering or equivalent technical degree
• Minimum 10 years experience in a similar role, with at least 2 years in a lead capacity
• You will be able to demonstrate experience with a range of subsystems, including:
  • Networking, switching and transmission (e.g. microwave, fibre)
  • Marine, meteorological and oceanographic systems including radar and VTS
  • Life safety systems including access control, CCTV and PAGA
  • Digital and analogue radio
  • Electronic access control and management including virtualisation,
  • firewalls and intrusion detection.
• Excellent written communication skills
• Project management skills

Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience managing teams for similar size and complexity projects.
