About the job:
The successful candidate will prepare design drawings under the direction of the Piping Lead or a Senior Designer and assist with the modification / revamps of existing petrochemical, refining and light industrial facilities

Your responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the successful candidate will be as follows:
  • Organizing work to meet priorities.
  • Review drawings and designs to control quality and accuracy.
  • Discussing special problems with project team and recommending changes as required.
  • Keeping up to date on new design processes and drafting techniques.
  • Developing and recommending improvements in design standards to lower costs, improve work quality and facilitate maintenance.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Technical college graduation (ie Mechanical Engineering Technician/ Technologist) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years piping design experience, preferably in the petrochemical industry.
  • Working ability with 2D AutoCAD and at least one data driven 3D computer application for piping design e.g. Aveva E3D, Autodesk Plant 3D, Recap and Navisworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in technology.
  • Ability to integrate new technologies into daily work processes.
  • Direct experience working with client and industry specifications and standards.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, process, maintenance, and construction methods.
  • Previous site experience is beneficial.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal & written.
  • Brownfield and Greenfield experience is beneficial
  • Use of and Manipulation of laser scans is beneficial

  • Ability to meet assignment schedule & deliver quality products under pressure.
