Technical expertise and years of experience in our industry are great but we also value talented people who are aligned with our purpose and are committed to driving their own professional development. As our ESG Champion you’ll manage and provide leadership to our ESG Council, comprising of senior leaders from functions across our business. The Council will include representatives from HR, Finance, HSSE and Operations amongst others.

Having recently undertaken a detailed ESG materiality review, you’ll know where the starting point is for our sustainability journey and lead us in shaping the ESG Strategy that aligns with our purpose and talks to our client’s needs.

You will be the person who leads meaningful change and keeps our collective focus on the measurable targets we set to demonstrate our success.

Your responsibilities:

  • Engrain the ESG Culture within global operations and working with all stakeholders to achieve ESG excellence.
  • Take primary responsibility for embedding the Kent ESG Strategy across the organisation.
  • Establish the ESG Council, providing leadership, guidance and advise to ensure meaningful targets are established
  • Develop and implement an effective ESG reporting process to consistently capture ESG performance data
  • Develop and maintain the ESG procedures to ensure compliance with the statutory requirements and international standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Conduct assurance monitoring to validate the effective implementation of the ESG program
  • Provide strong, decisive, leadership and guidance so that the ESG program is clearly communicated and understood.
  • Advise and inform the Sounding Board on ESG progress and developments across industry and society.
  • Ensure the company strategic direction is engrained into the ESG Plans and all internal and external communications
  • Ensure ESG records are controlled effectively and easily accessible to all stakeholders
  • Develop and encourage a team culture that features an energetic, confident and collaborative approach.
  • Focus on how we work together across the organisation to empower teams to collaborate and make decisions with pace.
  • Support business development in the winning of work by showcasing our ESG capabilities in tenders and presentations.
  • Develop and maintain, in partnership with key stakeholders, a digital platform for all reporting aspects related to ESG.
  • Monitor and report ESG trends across the company, identifying areas of improvement and recommend corrective actions
  • Work with Operational & Functional Leadership to build a culture based on partnering, coaching and collaboration.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience

Qualification/ Certification:


  • A Bachelor's Degree or Professional Degree, or equivalent, in HSSE or Sustainability related field is a likely baseline for this role. We know that talented people are diverse, so we are open to discussion with those who you have a qualification of similar caliber and match the overall job profile.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft suite

  • A recognised professional membership in a related area of expertise

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Excellent in written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent practice of English, ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Core Competencies:

  • At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position gained within the Oil & Gas sector or heavy industry, including middle-management roles with a regional / multi-jurisdictional remit
  • Microsoft Suite
  • Lead Auditor
