About the job:
The successful candidate will prepare design drawings and assist with the modification / revamps of existing petrochemical, refining and light industrial facilities.
Your responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the successful candidate will be as follows:
- Organizing work to meet priorities.
- Review drawings and designs to control quality and accuracy.
- Producing highly advanced and complex designs.
- Discussing special problems with project team and recommending changes as required.
- Keeping up to date on new design processes and drafting techniques.
- Developing and recommending improvements in design standards to lower costs, improve work quality and facilitate maintenance.
- Carry out site surveys to gather detail information for design needs.
- Manage schedules, budgets and scope changes throughout project duration.
- Prepare and drive 3D model reviews and interface with client representatives.
- Technical college graduation (ie Mechanical Engineering Technician/ Technologist) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 15 years piping design and layout experience, preferably in the petrochemical industry.
- Advanced ability with 2D AutoCAD and multiple data driven 3D computer applications for piping design e.g. AutoPLANT, CADWorx, Plant 3D, PDMS/E3D or Smart 3D and Navisworks.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in technology.
- Ability to integrate new technologies into daily work processes.
- Direct experience working with client and industry specifications and standards.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing, process, maintenance, and construction methods.
- Relative site experience preferred.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal & written
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate workflow with High Value Centers (HVEC).
