About the job:
Project/Front End Development Engineer, provides the initial front-end development of improvement ideas and projects in support of our client site’s capital investment plans, including regulatory, growth and energy transition projects.
This Engineering role is essential to ensure quality front-end engineering work is completed to obtain high quality front-end loading by identifying innovative alternative solutions and scope development.

About the job:
Project/Front End Development Engineer, provides the initial front-end development of improvement ideas and projects in support of our client site’s capital investment plans, including regulatory, growth and energy transition projects.
This Engineering role is essential to ensure quality front-end engineering work is completed to obtain high quality front-end loading by identifying innovative alternative solutions and scope development.
Your responsibilities:
- Apply primary engineering and coordination skills to the development of capital investment ideas during the initial assessment, business case development, and conceptual design of proposed solutions
- Integrate and collaborate with key asset stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and project deliverables
- Provide continued engineering support to the execution organizations (Projects and Maintenance) during the detailed engineering, procurement, and construction phases of the investment.
- Lead all Engineering activities through the FEL-1 phase to converge on a solution to the initiative in question. Primary responsible party for delivering FEL-1 phase within allocated time and budget
- Lead special technical studies in the operating areas and providing engineering support to the assessment (pre-scouting) activities of the production teams.
- Responsible for project scope finalization phase including the preparation and/or review of necessary Flow Diagrams, Heat and Material balances, plot plans and supporting documents.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in the refining/petrochemical industry
- Engineering degree in any discipline; Must have a P. Eng
- Background in discipline engineering support to operations and project experience required.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Team player
- Proven multi-tasker with strong organizational skills
- Ability to meet assignment schedule & deliver quality products under pressure
- Self-motivated & goal-oriented
- Strong computer background including experience with MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
