About the job:

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference and engineer solutions that make not only the UK’s energy security stronger but actively impact the way in which the world drives towards a net zero future?

Our Naval Architecture teams across the UK operate globally in both the Offshore Wind and Oil & Gas markets working towards reducing carbon emissions. As a graduate in one of our locations, you will be contributing to a variety of technically challenging and exciting projects, from designing new offshore wind farms, sub stations and floating concept designs, to supporting our clients through the range of consultancy services we offer, including feasibility studies, concept and sizing, and life extensions.

Key Responsibilities:

You’ll be joining a team spread across 2 UK locations (London & Edinburgh) that actively encourage and foster innovative solutions and new approaches to our client’s problems. Your work could involve the following:

  • Design and analysis of floating and fixed offshore structures. This could be fixed and floating offshore wind turbines, semi-submersibles, FPSO/FLNG vessels across the life of the asset, from concept study through to decommissioning.
  • Analysis of vessels and offshore structures using techniques including - hydrodynamic analysis, mooring analysis, stability analysis, transportation analysis, structural assessments.
  • Learning to use tools such as Ansys AQWA, DNV SESAM (inc. SIMA, Riflex & Bladed), Simulia Abaqus, Orcina Orcaflex, modeFRONTIER, and Python.
  • Interfacing directly with clients, representing our teams to discuss engineering solutions to complex problems.
  • Supporting our external markets, business development and work winning activities.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

  • Minimum 2.1 Bachelors or 2.2 Master’s/MEng degree in Naval Architecture or Ship Science.
  • A passion for working in a consultancy environment.
  • Embracing equality, diversity and inclusion in everything you do.
  • A desire to work collaboratively with a curious approach, challenging yourself to find new solutions.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to develop your skillset and seek out development opportunities within a supportive team.
  • Motivation to achieve professional accreditation (where applicable).
  • Comfortable to embrace agile ways of working and learning new technologies.
  • You should be within 2 years of graduating your university degree in Naval Architecture/Ship Science.
