About the job: An integral part of the project engineering team, and based in Edmonton, AB the candidate will perform various project assignments requiring general familiarity with project management work and coordinate the activities of various disciplines on Oil Sands and various other Energy Industry projects for our client, and have a specialty in Project Execution
Your responsibilities:
Coordinating major procurement packages including fabrication to ensure safety, cost, quality, and time objectives are met.
Developing Path of Construction (POC)
Assist is AWP execution fundamentals
Facilitate Constructability Reviews during FEED and Detailed Design
Investigating, and resolving project execution problems.
Provide input into engineering deliverables from an execution perspective
Act as liaison between Client, Construction Contractor, Operations and Engineering office to get the answer of DCNs and RFIs in a timely manner.
Establishing and maintaining client relationships.
Lead project execution meetings and workshops.
Providing technical guidance to co-workers
Manage execution action log and coordinate activity closures
Travel to site occasionally to coordinate issues
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in any engineering discipline is preferred.
Journeyman Trade Tickets considered an asset
Minimum 15 years relevant execution experience in the oil & gas industry.
Minimum 5 years project management experience.
Minimum 5 years Field Experience
Technical experience working with engineering
Previous EPC/EPCM experience preferred.
Experience with 3D models and extracting information
Solid understanding of project management and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields.
Working knowledge of the company’s established guidelines, procedures, and practices as well as other departments, suppliers and contractors
Multi-discipline experience: knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines (process, civil/structural, instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, piping).
Working knowledge of planning and control methods.
General understanding of industry and regulatory standards
Proficiency in a variety of standard project management methods and techniques.
Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously with a team of a diverse workforce.
Excellent english communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong organizational, leadership and teamwork skills
