The scope covered two biorefinery projects; one in Varennes, Canada and the other one in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The plants were designed to process 100,000 metric tons per year of waste to produce 69 million liters of biomethanol per year.

Engineering Services for Material Handling

Design, optimize and select mechanical equipment for solid material handling (conveyors, mixers, pressurization system / depressurization, dosing units, dust collectors, dryers, sorting systems, etc.)
Preparation of PFD and P&IDs
Design lines and process equipment such as heat exchangers, liquid separator, gas, pumps, etc.)
Define assembly methods and manufacturing parts tolerances for process equipment used for solid handling purposes
Define and optimize control sequences required for system implementation
Follow-up with vendors
Conduct technical feasibility studies.

Engineering Services for Mechanical Package

Prepare drawings and data sheets of mechanical equipment
Assemble tender documents for mechanical equipment packages such as pressurized vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, distillation columns, demisters, strainers, steam traps, tanks, conveyors, cooling towers, chillers, compressors
Technical analysis of bids documents and technical recommendations
Review and comment equipment manufacturers' drawings
Technical support during equipment manufacturing.

Engineering Services for Instrumentation and Control

Produce loop interconnection drawings, location drawings, control cables lists and instruments list
Produce technical specification for instruments
Model electrical equipment and instrumentation
Check and revise drawings from external vendors
Review and integrate third-party equipment
Data entry of electrical equipment and instruments.
