We are looking for a
seasoned Energy Optimization Specialist with 12-15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly with a strong working knowledge of operations in the Middle East. This role is critical for enhancing energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and optimizing energy consumption across our client’s facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring energy optimization strategies and KPIs, with a focus on using input data such as fuel and power consumption to derive key performance indicators like CO2 emission intensity and energy intensity.
Your primary role will be to handle various energy engineering aspects, including ensuring energy management compliance and improving energy efficiency of multiple operating facilities under the client’s portfolio. You will also be responsible for providing technical support on high priority energy engineering and management issues.
The successful candidate should have extensive experience in energy improvement and simulation applications in the areas of Oil & Gas industry. Moreover, the successful candidate should have extensive experience and in-depth knowledge to analyze and reconcile data, using models for optimization studies in steam system optimization and conducting Heat Recovery Optimization for existing and new oil and gas facilities, such as Pinch Analysis.
Skills and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:- Design and implement advanced energy optimization strategies to drive efficiency improvements across oil and gas operations.
- Lead initiatives to reduce energy consumption, minimize waste, and lower operational costs through strategic interventions at existing and new oil and gas facilities.
- Utilize data from fuel consumption, power usage, and other relevant sources to develop comprehensive KPIs such as CO2 emission intensity, energy intensity, and more.
- Introduce energy saving technologies for energy intensive equipment.
- Develop energy baseline and Energy KPIs to analyze the energy performance.
- Perform in-depth analysis of energy consumption patterns to identify areas for improvement and track progress against established KPIs.
- Work with Client’s energy team to identify energy saving opportunities and make recommendations to achieve more energy efficient operations.
- Provide expert guidance and technical support to operations and maintenance teams on energy management practices.
- Develop and maintain energy models and predictive tools to support forecasting, benchmarking, and scenario analysis.
- Ensure that all energy-related activities comply with local and international regulations and industry standards.
- Prepare detailed reports on energy performance, including recommendations for improvements, and present findings to senior management.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, environmental, and operations departments, to implement energy-saving projects.
- Lead workshops and training sessions to build awareness and capability around energy optimization within the organization.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in energy management technologies and best practices, particularly those relevant to the oil and gas sector.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing innovative solutions to enhance energy efficiency.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science, or a related field is required. An advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
Communication:- Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
Behavior/ Core Competencies:- 12-15 years of relevant experience in energy optimization within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on Middle East operations.
- Working knowledge of oil/gas-related plant processes.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing energy optimization strategies, including KPI development and monitoring.
- Professional certifications or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Proficiency in the codes and standards in the oil and gas industry (e.g. API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISA, IEEE, etc.)
- Familiarity with ISO-50001 Energy Management Standard and Requirement
- Proficiency in energy management software and tools used in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Python, or industry-specific software.
- Ability to analyse complex data sets and develop actionable insights that drive energy efficiency.
- Proactively identifies issues and develops innovative solutions to optimize energy usage and reduce emissions.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence organizational change in energy management practices.
- Meticulous approach to monitoring and optimizing energy performance, ensuring accuracy in calculations and reports.
- Proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, delivering results on time and within budget.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse environments, including on-site visits to oil and gas facilities
