About the role:

Reporting directly to the Manager, Project Controls, as the Sr. Project Controls Specialist, you will provide comprehensive project controls support during all phases of projects. Working collaboratively with one or more project teams, you will lead the development and implementation of practical project controls solutions using a combination of internal standards and leading industry practices. Specific accountabilities are focused on cost, schedule, and risk management plus project reporting and governance.

  • As the Sr. Projects Control Specialist, you will be responsible for project deliverables in the following areas:Cost
    • Design and implement work/cost breakdown structures
    • Develop and/or vet project cost estimates and cash flow, models
    • Establish cost baselines and control budgets
    • Author estimate basis documentation
    • Assist project teams with annual budget submissions
    • Develop monthly financial forecasts
    • Track and analyze project costs
    • Log and track the status of project change requests
    • Assist project teams with project-related financial transactions (i.e., accruals, transfers)
  • Schedule
    • Create and/or vet integrated project timelines and schedules
    • Author schedule basis documentation
    • Establish schedule baselines
    • Identify and monitor critical path activities
    • Track and analyze work progress
  • Risk
    • Initiate and maintain project risk registries
    • Develop project risk models
  • Reporting
    • Initiate and maintain issue resolution logs
    • Author weekly and monthly status reports
  • Document Control
    • Assist project teams with document management and data archiving standards

What We Need from You

  • To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following must-have qualifications and experience:Post-secondary diploma or degree in Engineering, Business, Accounting, Construction Management, or other related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years of project controls or project management related work experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated proficiency with scheduling software (Primavera or MS Project)

  • The following qualifications and/or experience are desirable, but not essential:Demonstrated proficiency in an Oracle Fusion
  • Active participation in EPC contracting, monitoring, and/or administration
  • PMI Certification and/or training
