About the job:
Kent is looking for an energetic, driven and talented mid-level Corporate Lawyer to join and complement our dynamic and vibrant global legal department. This role is perfect for a legal expert with a passion for an exciting and challenging in-house position reporting directly to Kent’s General Counsel. This is an exhilarating opportunity to work on a diverse range of complex multi-jurisdictional corporate finance and other transactions within a high-performing and collaborative legal team. You will have the mandate to make a significant impact and contribute to Kent’s ambitious international growth journey. You will be at the heart of our operations providing legal and commercial support to drive our business forward right across our global footprint in the Americas, Europe, MENA and AsiaPac.

Your responsibilities:
Transactional and other legal support: take a central role within the global legal team undertaking and participating in a wide and interesting spectrum of legal transactions and matters, including:
  • Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Joint Ventures: Lead and support strategic M&A transactions and joint ventures, from due diligence to negotiation and integration.
  • Corporate Structuring: Advise on corporate structuring initiatives, including entity formation, restructuring, and governance frameworks, to optimize operational efficiency and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Financing: Oversee legal aspects of financing activities, including debt and equity financing and financial and security agreements.
  • Policy Innovation: Drive the development and implementation of progressive policies and procedures, custom-fit for our operations throughout the globe.
  • Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a spectrum of commercial agreements from NDAs to high-stakes client and supplier agreements and groundbreaking partnership deals.
  • Labour and Employment Law: Provide guidance on complex labour and employment law matters, ensuring compliance with local regulations and promoting a harmonious workplace environment.
  • Legal Strategy and Counsel: Provide value-add strategic legal and commercial guidance to senior management and departments, navigating complex issues across our international businesses.
Drive Process Innovation:
  • Develop and implement standardised templates and streamline processes to enhance efficiency and consistency.
  • •Leverage cutting-edge technological solutions including the adoption of AI technologies to enhance workflow automation, continuously seeking innovative ways to improve.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
  • Work hand-in-hand with internal departments to provide expert legal input and support.
  • Play a pivotal role in contributing to and supporting the wider Kent legal team across all jurisdictions.
  • Be the go-to contact with external partners, forging strong and beneficial relationships.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Qualification/ Certification:
  • Legal qualification to degree level (Bachelor’s or equivalent). Professional Legal certification preferred.
  • At least 5 years of progressive hands-on experience in corporate law. Previous experience working inhouse with an international energy company will be favorable but not essential.
  • Grounding in a recognised international professional legal firm.
  • Experience of working on and supporting AsiaPac transactions and other legal matters will be an advantage.

  • Expertise: Solid understanding of M&A, joint ventures, commercial contracts, labour law, corporate structuring and financing across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Drafting Agreements: Demonstrable experience and expertise in reviewing, drafting and negotiating a diverse range of commercial contracts and transactional agreements.
  • Project Management: Skilled in project managing complex transactions and willingness to take the lead and autonomously drive project and task delivery with minimal supervision.
  • Dynamism: Excellence in organisational qualities with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality.
  • Analytical Thinking: Capable of assessing complex situations, problem-solving and developing sound legal strategies with strong analytical skills.
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to contribute and thrive in collaborative teams in a multi-cultural and diverse high-performing work environment.

Communication: Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
