About the job:
Kent is seeking a highly experienced Constructability Programme Manager (AWP Lead) to support a major EPC project, initially based in the Woking engineering office before transitioning to site in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is a critical leadership role focused on ensuring that project design and execution are aligned to deliver safe, efficient, and predictable outcomes from engineering through to commissioning and handover.
The role’s first core accountability is to lead and implement a structured, end-to-end Constructability Programme, embedding constructability principles across all phases of engineering. This involves driving a continuous, systematic approach rather than a one-time review, ensuring designs are fully optimised for constructability. All inputs are captured and managed within the Kent Constructability Log, with clear ownership and accountability to ensure they actively influence engineering deliverables and overall project outcomes.
The second key responsibility is to act as the project focal point for Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), overseeing the development of Construction Work Areas (CWAs) and ensuring effective progression across Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Work Packs (EWPs, PWPs, and CWPs). Working closely with Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, and Project Controls, the role ensures full alignment with the Path of Construction and systemisation strategy. As the project progresses, the Constructability Programme Manager will lead a team of AWP Engineers to deliver Construction Work Packs and workface planning, ensuring full integration of execution sequencing across the project lifecycle.
Skills & Responsibilities:
- Provides strategic direction across constructability and AWP delivery from early engineering through to field execution, ensuring designs are optimised for safe, efficient and predictable construction, commissioning and handover
- Leads the development and implementation of a formal Constructability Programme, ensuring continuous, structured assessment of engineering deliverables across all project areas rather than isolated review workshops
- Establishes, maintains and governs the Kent Constructability Log, ensuring all actions are clearly defined, tracked to closure and effectively influence engineering design and project outcomes
- Acts as the project authority on constructability and workface planning, advising engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project controls on sequencing, constructability risks, IFC prioritisation and execution constraints
- Leads development and implementation of the AWP strategy, including definition of Construction Work Areas (CWAs) aligned with Path of Construction, systemisation and project schedule
- Ensures effective integration and alignment of Engineering Work Packs (EWPs), Procurement Work Packs (PWPs) and Construction Work Packs (CWPs) to enable constraint-free execution
- Ensures that all engineering deliverables, material status and 3D model attributes are aligned with CWA definitions and sequencing strategy, supporting efficient and logical field execution
- Holds accountability for embedding constructability, sequencing and workface planning principles into engineering and procurement deliverables from the outset
- Champions a zero-incident culture, ensuring constructability outcomes support HSE in Design, safe access, lifting strategies, SIMOPS planning and overall execution safety
- Ensures full compliance with client requirements and Saudi Aramco standards, including Construction Safety Manual, AWP expectations and project governance processes
- Leads mobilisation and development of the AWP team, including AWP Engineers responsible for development of CWPs and workface planning across all project areas
- Provides leadership and direction to the constructability and AWP teams, setting clear objectives, performance expectations and accountability aligned with project KPIs
- Maintains accountability for AWP and workface readiness, ensuring that all constraints (engineering, materials, access, permits) are identified and resolved ahead of execution
- Coordinates across multiple project areas and disciplines to ensure alignment between design, materials, sequencing and field execution
- Oversees contractor and subcontractor alignment with constructability and AWP requirements, ensuring consistent application across all work fronts
- Ensures all construction governance systems are supported and aligned with AWP principles, including permit to work, SIMOPS planning, quality control, document control and materials management
- Identifies and resolves constraints related to constructability, sequencing, logistics, access, materials and workface readiness, escalating key risks with clear mitigation strategies
- Works closely with Construction and Commissioning teams to ensure AWP and constructability outcomes support execution strategy, system completion and handover sequencing
- Supports development of construction methodologies, lifting plans, shutdown plans and execution strategies, ensuring they are aligned with constructability and workface planning principles
- Maintains accountability for performance including productivity, schedule adherence, workface efficiency and execution predictability
- Works closely with Project Controls to ensure AWP is fully integrated into planning, scheduling, progress measurement and reporting
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with client PMT and project stakeholders, ensuring alignment on constructability, sequencing and AWP delivery
- Reports on constructability and AWP performance, including constraints, readiness, progress and execution risk, providing structured input to project and client reviews
- Maintains close alignment with the Project Director and functional leads to ensure a fully integrated EPC delivery model across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning
- Maintains current knowledge of AWP best practice, digital work packaging tools and constructability methodologies, driving continuous improvement across the project
- Demonstrates leadership behaviours aligned with company values, setting clear expectations for performance, safety, quality and structured delivery
- Accountable for implementation of HSSEQ management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) within constructability and AWP activities, ensuring full compliance with client and regulatory requirements
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Behaviour/ Core Competencies:
At Kent, you will be trusted to lead independently and exercise sound judgement in the delivery of constructability and AWP for a major EPC project. You will bring strong practical knowledge of constructability, workface planning, Advanced Work Packaging and brownfield delivery, applying that experience to achieve safe, predictable and high-quality execution outcomes across all project phases.
You will take ownership of the Constructability Programme and AWP function, not only leading but developing the team to ensure that best practice, lessons learned and structured methodologies are consistently applied. You will create a culture where engineering is developed with execution in mind, work fronts are properly defined and sequenced, and teams are clear on expectations, accountable for performance and focused on delivering work that is fully constructable and ready for the field.
You will work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project controls teams, building effective working relationships across all interfaces. You will maintain a strong, credible presence, ensuring that constructability principles and AWP requirements are clearly understood, adopted and embedded across the project.
You will act as a key integrator between design and execution, ensuring alignment between engineering deliverables, material availability, construction sequencing and commissioning requirements. You will proactively identify constraints and risks to execution and drive early intervention to remove barriers and improve workface readiness.
You will actively look for opportunities to improve performance, driving efficiency, productivity and predictability through structured AWP and constructability practices. You will apply lessons learned and promote continuous improvement across the project, while also contributing to strengthening constructability and AWP capability within the wider business through practical leadership and experience.
Safety leadership at this level is fundamental. The Constructability Programme Manager is accountable for ensuring that constructability and AWP activities actively support safe, efficient and compliant project execution, embedding HSSEQ principles from early engineering through to field delivery.
This includes responsibility for:
