About the Job:

We have an immediate opening for an AP Accounting Technician in our West Houston office. The AP Accounting Technician will be responsible for timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments, working with our vendors and our internal procurement, project, and operations teams.

Core job duties will include:

  • matching vendor invoices against POs and goods receipt documentation
  • indexing and routing non-PO invoices for approval
  • verifying approval and coding of non-PO vendor invoices
  • recording invoices in the accounting system
  • setting up payments in the bank platform
  • recording payments in the accounting system
  • responding to invoice status inquiries from vendors and from internal project/operations managers
  • downloading AP data and preparing AP reports
  • additional related ad hoc duties as required

The successful candidate would have the following qualifications:

Technical Skills
  • Strong customer service mentality
  • Detail-oriented mindset
  • Deadline-driven approach
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • 3 or more years experience in accounts payable processing
  • Excel skills preferred
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion is a plus
Interpersonal Skills
  • Good communicator – written and verbal, in-person and remote via Teams/Zoom/phone
  • Ability to resolve issues with company and vendor personnel efficiently and amicably
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or closely-related field preferred
